The "Italian Week", organised by ENIT Madrid in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Chamber of Commerce, was held in Piazza Santa Cruz and was attended by more than 20 Italian businesses in the sector that presented their products in personalised stands. This was a unique opportunity for getting to know the food and wine specialities and major tourist venues of some Italian Regions, including Sardinia and Calabria, from up close.

The official inauguration of the day was attended by the Italian Ambassador in Madrid, Leonardo Visconti di Modrone, the Director of the Italian Chamber of Commerce, Giovanni Arico, ENIT Director for the Iberian area, Domenico Di Salvo, and Director of the Tourism Office for the Spanish capital, Mar de Miguel.

The event was attended by more than 10,000 people that visited the "Italia" stand, where they were provided with information, and promotional and advertising material was handed out on the various tourist destinations, the country's tourism product, and on places of historical and modern interest.
