PRESS RELEASE

ALESSANDRA PRIANTE APPOINTED NEW ENIT PRESIDENT

“THANK YOU FOR PLACING YOUR TRUST IN ME. TOGETHER, WE WILL MAKE ITALY A MUST-VISIT DESTINATION”

Alessandra Priante has been appointed the new President of ENIT S.p.A. She joins ENIT from her former role as European director of UNWTO, the UN agency for global tourism. With extensive international experience, she oversaw International Relations and the Ceremonial Office at MIPAAFT until 2019. In this role, she coordinated and supervised the transfer of tourism policies from MiBACT to the newly established governance within the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Forestry, and Tourism. She skilfully navigated the intricacies of national tourism policies, successfully repositioning Italy at the forefront of leading international platforms, such as UNWTO, OECD, Europe, and the BlueMed, Eusair and Eusalp strategies. Specialising in tourism policies, she is particularly well-versed in the areas of data and statistical surveys, food and wine tourism, health tourism, accessible tourism, the dynamics of overtourism, and demand analysis aligned with the principles of digital transformation.

“I feel honoured to be appointed this role of significant responsibility, and I am thrilled to be able to contribute to the growth and promotion of our wonderful country as an outstanding tourist destination”, states Alessandra Priante, President of ENIT.

“With the guidance of the Ministry of Tourism and Minister Daniela Santanchè, our shared objective will be to amplify and promote the beauty of Italy, aiming to attract an increasing number of tourists from all over the world. To achieve this goal, I will work closely with local institutions, trade associations, and tour operators to establish partnerships and promote sustainable and responsible tourism.

Additionally, I intend to focus on innovating and digitalising the tourism sector to make Italy more accessible and attractive to travellers. It will also be my top priority to improve the training and professional qualifications of tour operators so that we can provide high-quality services and unforgettable experiences for visitors. I will strive to promote the enhancement of our country's cultural and environmental heritage, aiming to preserve it and pass it on to future generations. Italy has so much to offer and I am convinced that, by working together, we can turn Italy into a must-visit tourist destination. Thank you for placing your trust in me. With your support, I know that we will succeed in achieving ambitious goals for Italian tourism”.

“Under the guidance of the new President, the process of launching ENIT’s new structure is complete. We are ready to serve Italy and promote its image around the world, and we will work together to attribute greater value and dignity to a complex field of work that demands a different narrative. We will also focus on modernising and updating aspects of the sector by instigating a more efficient and professional approach”, commented Ivana Jelinic, Managing Director of ENIT, as she welcomed the new President.

The Board of Directors of Enit S.p.A. has now been fully appointed, comprising President Alessandra Priante and directors Ivana Jelinic and Sandro Pappalardo.
