The Marche region boasts Italy’s highest percentage of businesses per inhabitant. Thus, the accommodation facilities have specialized in welcoming 'business' tourists, by providing exclusive services for working activities, such as 24 hours open multifunctional meeting rooms, transfers to airports and train stations, laundry service and many others.
What makes staying in the Marche for business unique is the wonderful landscape of rolling hills, backed by mountains and close to the sea. In northern Marche, Pesaro’s Vitrifrigo Arena is an imposing indoor sports arena, founded in 1996, now home to meetings and concerts, like the memorable recital by Luciano Pavarotti. Further south, down the Adriatic coast, Senigallia’s Rotonda a mare, inaugurated in 1933, is a waterfront round structure, originally used for hydrotherapy and recreational purposes, today it is a luxurious venue for exhibitions and conferences. Heading south, Ancona’s Loggia dei Mercanti, with its wonderful facade in Venetian Gothic style, is now home to the town’s Chamber of Commerce and a venue for conferences/meetings. Exploring Ancona’s green inland, we must mention Fabriano’s Oratorio della Carità, an extraordinary location for meetings, with its remarkable frescoes representing the seven Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy, made by Filippo Bellini from Urbino.
The numerous farmhouses, hotels and country houses surrounded by greenery are ideal locations to relax or take a break after a hard working day, or smart working; indeed many services are provided, such as gyms, fitness centres or guided tours to discover the attractions of the surrounding area. They all supply spaces and facilities to organize working sessions in a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Refined historic homes, convents, castles, patrician villas and manor houses can also host meetings and different events.
The Marche region also boasts a high concentration of historic theatres which represent the Marche’s precious cultural heritage and can host different types of events, from official and media events to more cosy and reserved ones.
The Marche region is also the birthplace of some of Italy’s most famous opera composers and singers, such as Gioacchino Rossini, to whom the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro is dedicated, and also Giovan Battista Pergolesi and Gaspare Luigi Pacifico Spontini, both celebrated in Jesi’s Pergolesi Spontini Festival.
Many of the well known and famous Made in Italy products are made in this land. This is why a journey to the Marche region is also a good opportunity to visit the numerous factory outlets, selling designer clothing and shoes at knock-down prices. There are numerous brand merchandise that can be purchased in the many enormous shops and outlets. Famous brands, now popular all over the world, can be found everywhere in the region, from Ancona to San Benedetto del Tronto, Fermo, Civitanova Marche, including the whole Macerata area.
