ENIT: THE HEROES OF ISCHIA PLAY A KEY ROLE IN THE TOURISM RELAUNCH PLAN
THE ISLAND IS LEAD PARTNER IN THE INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN “THIS IS ISCHIA”, AN INVITATION TO “PASS ON” THE BEAUTY OF OUR LAND
ITALIAN AND FOREIGN VISITORS ARE INVITED TO SEND IN THEIR OWN AUTOGRAPHED SHOTS OF THE GREEN ISLAND
Ischia is the starting point for an international campaign that takes the wonders of Italy on tour around the world. #ThisisIschia, the campaign by the Ministry of Tourism and ENIT, set to run from January to April 2023 in the main Italian and international hubs, focusing on the countries with the largest numbers of tourists interested in Italy (such as Germany, the UK, France, Spain and the Benelux countries), will see the participation of the local heroes, citizens, rescue workers and operators who were badly affected by the landslide that hit the island in November.
The core message of the promotional campaign is that it’s now possible to enjoy the beauty of the green island again, set to act as the trailblazer for the broader campaigns to follow, which will also focus on other regions in Italy, with a view to creating a single approach to promoting the country.
This campaign will be active through both digital channels and print and out-of-home media, and will engage everyone with a passion for the island and for Italy. In addition, international influencers and tour guides will be illustrating the island with accounts of the extraordinary everyday life that takes place on it.
ENIT will also be taking Ischia to the leading international trade fairs, with a view to strengthening the brand of the island.
Visitors from Italy and abroad will have the chance to share their own autographed shots of the island, which will be republished with the dedicated hashtag and the tools provided by the campaign created by ENIT for the Ministry of Tourism.
In addition, a dedicated landing page will allow visitors to choose their own virtual tour of Ischia in real time, and share it with other users online.
“ENIT and the Ministry of Tourism are on it! We’ve developed a campaign in record time, prompted by dialogue with the operators involved. In this sense, the presence of the Minister Daniela Santanchè in Ischia launched a positive signal of practical commitment and emotional support. Beautiful things, just like beautiful places, need to be taken care of, and we will ensure the green island is not abandoned. ENIT will do its bit in terms of promoting the island both in Italy and worldwide, fuelling a desire to spend a holiday in one of the jewels of the Gulf of Naples, loved by tourists all over the world. It is essential to keep this channel open to illustrate, support and promote Ischia, and the National Tourist Board will also endeavour to do so through its 28 offices abroad, offering the most faithful, appealing picture possible of an island replete with wonders that must first and foremost be safeguarded. This is also a way to encourage the institutions not to let their guard down, in order to heal even the deepest wounds the island has suffered,” said ENIT CEO Ivana Jelinic.
“ENIT has been supporting the country for over 100 years, and in circumstances such as these, when this mission becomes especially complex – because it involves the promotion of areas that present particular challenges – it is important for us to adopt an even more scientific, extraordinary approach to planning what we do,” explained ENIT Board Member Sandro Pappalardo.
