PRESS RELEASE

IMAGINE AND THEN EXPERIENCE ISCHIA: MITUR, ENIT AND LUCUS LAUNCH A PERSONAL LOCAL STREAMER NETWORK FOR VIRTUAL TRIPS TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES ON ISCHIA

Digital technology and innovation applied to tourism: MITUR and ENIT have joined forces with the startup Lucus to launch a network of digital guides able to offer a virtual taste of Ischia, with a series of appointments on the website enit.it.

The circuit features the Lucus Local Streamer network, offering a live experience of the most beautiful places in the world, including Ischia. In the pipeline are a series of digital events that for the first time will involve Ischia, created by Lucus, a digital startup with a specific HD platform.

The best tourist routes have been selected and Ischia tourist guides have been trained by the Lucus academy to use the platform and create digital trips. The Local Streamers will now have the task of responding live to the questions and queries of users who will be logging into the various events from home.

The programme will include 21 digital events, running from 1 April to 16 September and covering the most enchanting places in Ischia, from the villages to the panoramic terraces overlooking the sea, without forgetting the island’s culinary and craftsmanship traditions.

On 1 April, the three digital trips planned will take visitors to the Aragonese Castle, starting in the morning with a live stroll around the Cathedral of the Assunta and the Church of the Immacolata. In the afternoon, the Digital Trip will be showing visitors around a vegetable garden, with the preparation of some typical products, while in the evening the focus will be on the Church of San Pietro a Pantaniello, with a view of the Bourbon Prison and the Terrace of Olive Trees, with its splendid views. The Digital Trips planned for 15 April in Casamicciola will take aspiring tourists to Piazza Marina in the morning, to learn more about some typical food and wine products; in the afternoon, a stroll along the port awaits them, and in the evening, a visit to the oldest ceramic factory on the island. On 28 April, the Lucus Local Streamers will be taking their audience to Ischia Ponte, starting out from the fishermen’s pier and then heading to the Cathedral and the Church of the Spirito Santo. In the afternoon, an incredible boat trip will be streamed life, stopping off at the cove of Sant’Anna, while the Digital Trip in the evening will take viewers to Palazzo Lauro and on a visit to the only distillery on the island. On 7 May, in Forio, visitors will have the chance to explore the La Mortella Gardens, the park and the thermal pools, followed by a magnificent walk live in the Old Town. On 14 May, the Digital Trip planned in Lacco Ameno will take digital tourists to the jetty in the morning, the Monte Vico Hill, San Montano Bay and Negombo thermal park in the afternoon, and the Pithecusae Museum in the evening. On 28 May, Local Streamers will be accompanying their audience live around Sant’Angelo, where they can admire the pedestrian area and the panoramic viewpoint, savour the magic of a boat trip and take a close look at how fish soup is made! The Digital Trips to explore this marvellous island will come to an end on 16 September in Barano and Forio, with a chance to see the Nitrodi hydrothermal park, the Ravino gardens and the preparation of other typical specialities.

‘Solidarity applied to the implementation of the tourist offer. After the launch of the #ThisisIschia campaign in the main national and international hubs and squares with a viral hashtag on the web to talk about the island in a new way and relaunch it in terms of tourism, we now want to take an extra step, a leap forward to build the island’s tourism future together and not leave it to the randomness of events,’ says Ivana Jelinic, ENIT President and CEO.

The events can be followed at enit.it/it/this-is-ischia, and registration is free for the live streaming events planned.
