MEETING BETWEEN ENIT AND THE ITALIAN EMBASSY IN INDIA

IVANA JELINIC, CEO ENIT: ‘THERE IS A DESIRE FOR ITALY IN INDIA, HIGH-END TOURISM FROM SOUTH-EAST ASIA IS GROWING YEAR BY YEAR’

Enit CEO Ivana Jelinic meets the Italian ambassador in New Delhi, Vincenzo De Luca, to develop tourism synergies between Italy and India.

‘There is an unexplored potential, the legacy of a historical bond between the two countries, expanded in recent years also thanks to the symbiotic work between the Enit headquarters in India and the Italian Embassy in New Delhi. Together with Ambassador De Luca, we are addressing important issues for the tourism industry and beyond. In India there is a desire for Italian tourism, a rapidly growing market. High-end tourism is growing year after year, there is a very strong demand and it is the intention of Enit, the Italian Embassy in New Delhi and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in India to work together to encourage demand and the Italian offer in Southeast Asia. Especially at a time when the Russian and Chinese markets are lacking, India is a market not to be missed for Italy', comments Jelinic.

A first sign comes from the Enit-Ita Airways launch of the first Italy-New Delhi flight which was attended by the CEO of Enit, Jelinic, who also met very important stakeholders in India and exponents of the world of Bollywood, the important Indian film industry, to lay the foundations for future productions dedicated to Made in Italy and with Italy as the protagonist.

With the new intercontinental connection, Italy expands towards the Asian market and confirms the great work aimed at satisfying incoming needs by encouraging Indian arrivals in Italy.

The new route is part of the strategy to promote tourism and the Italy brand throughout the world to potentiate a market of over one and a half billion potential long-haul big-spender travellers. Having a carrier capable of stimulating the tourist offer and transport to Italy allows Enit to implement incoming and move towards new frontiers, also touching on sectors undergoing expansion in India such as the film industry combined with tourism.
