ITALY AND ITS NEW STRATEGIES FOR A WORLD-BEATING MADE IN ITALY
MOVING TOWARDS AN ECONOMIC OBSERVATORY ON THE MEETINGS INDUSTRY
At Bit in Milan (4-6 February 2024), ENIT is presenting all the trends of the new Italian tourism industry, dealing with the second digital revolution, the advance of climate change, and the outdoors. The Italian National Tourist Board is hosting a cycle of more than 10 conferences, presenting new outlooks and trends for the industry, together with institutional and technical partners, including Maeci, Federcongressi, Fs, Trenitalia, Unioncamere/Isnart, Touring Club, Fondazione Santagata, and all the local authorities.
One of the major focuses is the development of strategies for the promotion of Made in Italy through an innovative marketing model, as well as the opening of new routes and paths with the strengthening of the related infrastructure.
The meetings industry is going through a moment of expansion, where the foundations are being laid for the sector’s economic observatory in order to plan the appeal and potential of Italy in terms of hospitality in an increasingly widespread, systematic manner.
With industry experts, including personalities from Bocconi University, the tourism offer will be oriented in light of measuring the impact of climate change on tourism, and the new tools made available to operators in the sector will be analysed, also with a view to sustainability and European projects and root-based tourism of which ENIT is the leader.
"Our country is aware of the strategic importance of the sector and intends to invest in and promote its growth. Participation at Bit is a way to show that Italy is always ready to welcome international tourists, offering them unforgettable experiences, and guaranteeing services of the highest quality.
By taking part in such exciting events for the industry, we are seizing the opportunity to promote the wonders of our country, to support sustainable and responsible tourism, to create new alliances and to demonstrate commitment to the Italian tourism sector. Taking part in Bit means showcasing the best of Italy and contributing to its economic and social growth”, says Ivana Jelinic, ENIT President and CEO.
