ENIT S.p.A.'s participation in IMEX Frankfurt 2026, one of the most important international events for the MICE sector, came to an end in Frankfurt; according to the authoritative International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Italy was ranked as the top destination in Europe and second in the world for conferences hosted in 2025, confirming its status as the undisputed leader. The 2026 edition confirmed the centrality of the event for the global events industry, with some 3,000 exhibitors between destinations and companies, 13,000 participants, including 4,500 hosted buyers, and 73,000 meetings both one-to-one and group meetings.
ENIT S.p.A. took part in the trade fair with a 557 square metre stand, designed as a platform for the integrated promotion of the Italian offer in the meetings, incentive, conferences and events segment. The Italy stand space hosted 77 co-exhibitors, confirming the strength of the national tourism system and its ability to present itself on international markets with a broad, coordinated and competitive proposal.
The ENIT S.p.A. stand featured the Regions of Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Liguria, Puglia, Tuscany and Sicily, together with Roma Capitale and Turismo Torino. The participation also saw the involvement of important players in the conference industry, including Convention Bureau Italia and the Convention Bureaus of Bologna, Florence and Naples, testifying to the growing role of Italian territories and cities in the international meetings industry.
Throughout the trade fair, the Italy stand was the venue for operational meetings, networking and discussions with buyers and decision makers from the main foreign markets. The Italian presence was part of an exhibition context characterised by strong commercial dynamism and a renewed interest in face-to-face meetings, an increasingly strategic element for building relationships, generating business and developing long-term collaborations.
To strengthen the Italy’s narrative as a MICE destination, two dedicated presentations were also organised: one for the Campania Region, by the Convention Bureau Naples, and one for the Tuscany Region, by the Convention Bureau Florence. Two moments of in-depth discussion that valorised territorial competencies, infrastructures, services and cultural attractions.
