Giro Express 2023 - Ep. 6 - Napoli

In the sixth stage of the Giro d'Italia 2023, Ilaria visits Naples, the starting and ending point of the stage, and heads towards the Amalfi Coast, a UNESCO site since 1997 and famous worldwide for its beautiful villages, gastronomic excellences, and breathtaking landscapes. Cycling towards the Campania capital, she stops at Herculaneum, the Roman city - according to legend founded by Hercules - and destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, known for its magnificent archaeological excavations recognized, together with those of Pompeii and Torre Annunziata, as a world heritage site by UNESCO. The journey continues in the Valley of the Mills in Gragnano, the cradle of pasta that, thanks to its water, has obtained the PGI recognition. Ilaria's circular route brings her back to Naples, to the port, where a redevelopment project is underway at the San Vincenzo pier, which will host the Museum of the Sea and Emigrants.
