Press Day Frankfurt
5 November 2026

The ENIT S.p.A. Press Day series, a well-established initiative, arrives in Frankfurt on 5 November, inviting journalists and other opinion leaders to a networking event accompanied by an Italian aperitivo. In conjunction with the upcoming Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, guests will have the opportunity to discover Italy’s rich culinary offering and its close connection with travel.

The theme of “Food & Travel” is particularly relevant today, and Italy is among the most sought-after destinations for food and wine tourism. This appeal has been further reinforced by UNESCO’s decision last year to recognise Italian cuisine as an intangible cultural heritage. For 75% of travellers, a destination’s culinary offering plays a decisive role in choosing where to spend their holiday. Italy achieved the highest score in the World Food Travel Association’s Gastronomy Tourism Maturity Index 2026, which measures how successfully a destination’s culinary identity is expressed, protected and promoted on the international stage.

During the Frankfurt Press Day, participants will not only gain valuable insights into Italy as a gastronomic destination, but also explore other aspects of Italian tourism and gather fresh ideas for their editorial coverage of Italy through direct exchanges with industry representatives. The media kit prepared for the event provides useful information on Italy’s regions, their main tourist attractions and the events scheduled for 2027.

The event aims to strengthen dialogue with German media representatives and showcase the diversity and breadth of Italy’s tourism offering, including its hidden gems. Particular attention will be paid to lesser-known aspects of the country and to sustainable forms of tourism, targeting such an established source market as Germany, which recorded more than 13 million arrivals and 61.5 million overnight stays in Italy in 2025.
