TAKE YOUR SEAT - PHOTOGRAPHS OF ITALY AT TORONTO'S L.B. PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FROM OCTOBER TO DECEMBER

ENIT's Toronto office, in collaboration with professional photographers Randy and Spencer VanDerStarren, has funded and sponsored a photographic exhibition that will present some of Italy's most evocative places to millions of travellers at Toronto's Pearson International Airport from October 1 to December 31, 2023. Digital Installation at Terminal 1: a series of 18 photographs, on a 5–7-minute loop, are selected to tell stories of Italy and displayed on six large 4K screens. About 3 million transit passengers are expected to see the exhibit during the first phase of a project that will move to other terminals and end in a static installation in 2024. The QR code on the photos on display links to the website www.takeyourseatonline.com, where a page on Italy has been set up with additional photos taken during the summer of 2023 by the two photographers, and a link to the official tourism promotion website italia.it.

"A photo exhibition on Italy at Toronto International Airport represents a synergistic strategy for the international promotion of the Bel Paese. The appointment offers a valuable opportunity to enhance Italy as a top tourist destination, capable of capturing the imagination of departing or arriving travellers, and to help spread Italian culture in an international context. The photographs on display, which showcase the beauty of historic cities, breathtaking landscapes, rich culinary traditions, and Italy's unique artistic heritage, serve as a very powerful marketing tool. The striking images of Italy's most iconic places can inspire and push Canadian travellers to consider a visit to Italy as their next destination. In addition, the photo exhibition can play an educational role by raising awareness of Italy's rich history and culture among the Canadian public, thus encouraging a deeper interest and understanding of Italy. The exhibition strengthens ties between Italy and Canada, fostering cultural and tourism exchange between the two countries. This can lead to stronger partnerships between tourism agencies, promoting bilateral tourism exchanges and increasing the flow of visitors between the two nations," says Ivana Jelinic, President and CEO of ENIT.
