VIENNA TO ROME BY TRAIN: ENIT ATTENDS THE MAIDEN VOYAGE OF THE NIGHTJET, CREATED BY TRENITALIA AND ÖBB
The new Nightjet, a modern night train linking Vienna with Rome and Munich, fruit of a partnership between Trenitalia and the Austrian railway company ÖBB, was launched on 10 September at Roma Tiburtina station. This innovative Euronight service marks an important step towards more sustainable and comfortable transport, responding to the growing demand for night-time travel.
The event was attended by ENIT’s CEO Ivana Jelinic and General Manager Elena Nembrini, who both emphasised the importance of initiatives such as this in promoting sustainable international tourism. ENIT's presence at the event testifies to its commitment to supporting the enhancement of travel infrastructures facilitating access to Italy, thus stimulating the flow of foreign visitors and improving the quality of cross-border links.
The new Nightjet train offers passengers a wide range of services including free Wi-Fi, on-board minibars, state-of-the-art information systems and a high level of security thanks to video surveillance and electronic access systems. This modern international service departs daily from Roma Tiburtina at 17:25, arriving in Vienna at 9:04 the following morning and in Munich at 9:22.
ENIT's participation in this event underlines the message that tourism is increasingly connected, sustainable and future-oriented, promoting Italy as an attractive, accessible tourist destination for European and international visitors.
